Conference bus. We have arranged for extra buses going from the city center to the conference site in the morning. The first bus will start from the bus station at the main station and the other will go from hotel Ibis over the hotels Steigenberger and Pullman to the conference site. Both buses will depart around 8:00 am. The second bus departs from the Hotels Steigenberger and Pullman around 8:10 am.
By Train. From Dortmund main station take the train S1 in the direction of Düsseldorf to get to the station "DO-Universität". (If your train stops in Bochum, you can take the S1 from Bochum in the direction of Dortmund to get to the station "DO-Universität".) The conference site is at a convenient walking distance from the train station (10 minutes).
By Plane: From Düsseldorf Airport, take the railway S1 to the university of Dortmund. A ticket of price category D is needed (10.50 €) and the trip takes roughly 80 minutes. For more information, see here. For an arrival at the airport of Dortmund, see the airport's website.
Car. If you arrive from the Autobahn (highway) A45, take the exit DO-Eichling- hofen/ Universität. If you come from the B1, take the exit DO-Dorstfeld/Uni- versität. A parking lot near the conference site is marked on the campus map in the Survival Guide.
Public transport. Guests of the hotels Steigenberger and Pullman may take the subway U42 from "Kreuzstraße" towards "Hombruch" to get to the station "An der Palmweide". There you have to take the bus number 445 towards "Hörde" or the bus number 462 towards "Barop" to get to the station "Meitnerweg", which is nearby the conference site. If you are staying at the Tryp hotel you can take the same buses from the station "REFA-Center" nearby the hotel. The railway and the buses will depart within every 10 minutes on Thursday and Friday. Please note that the bus will leave only every 30 minutes on Saturday. Local traffic schedules can be found in the Survival Guide. A complete subway plan is included in the "Welcome to Dortmund"-booklet, which you can find in the conference bag, and we recommend this website for further questions: http://www.vrr.de/en.
